Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Executive Chairman of the Gaza Health Initiative, praised the legendary steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in reaching a ceasefire agreement and ending the brutal aggression on the Gaza Strip. He emphasized that this heroic steadfastness failed the occupation's repeated attempts to displace Palestinians from their lands and occupy the Gaza Strip, or to impose impossible conditions and continue the unjust siege, and congratulated the Palestinian people on the ceasefire agreement, hoping that it will lead to a comprehensive cessation of the war.
Al-Hammouri expressed his deep thanks and appreciation for the efforts exerted by the partners of the Gaza Health Initiative from different countries of the world in general, and extended his greetings to Jordanian health workers in particular for their efforts to support the steadfastness of the people of Gaza, by arranging medical missions, providing medical aid, rehabilitating hospitals and many humanitarian projects, implementing virtual medical education programs, coordinating the admission of Gazan medical students to several universities in several countries, and evacuating dozens of patients especially children.
Dr. Al-Hammouri praised the role of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty the King, the government and the people, in supporting the Palestinian people. He stressed that Jordan has been and remains a main pillar in delivering aid to the Gaza Strip, and praised the pivotal, diplomatic and political role played by His Majesty King Abdullah II in supporting the Palestinian cause, whether through political efforts or humanitarian initiatives.
Dr. Hammouri added that the Gaza Health Initiative, launched in October 2023, has become a global model for humanitarian and health cooperation. The initiative currently involves more than 50 organizations from around the world, working in an integrated manner to support the health sector in Gaza and its reconstruction, including infrastructure restoration, hospital construction, and development projects aimed at promoting health and humanitarian sustainability in the Gaza Strip.
Al-Hammouri concluded his statement by stressing that the initiative will continue its efforts to rebuild the health sector in Gaza and strengthen cooperation between humanitarian and health organizations to ensure a decent life for the Palestinian brothers, noting that the real work of the initiative will now enter a new phase, from which the initiative will seek to rebuild and restore the health sector in Gaza after the occupation forces destroyed it by all means at their disposal and worked to kill, arrest and torture its workers.
