
Dr. Fawzi Al-Hammouri, Executive Chairman of the Gaza Health Initiative, honored a number of doctors and nurses returning from the Gaza Strip, in addition to Al Jazeera cameraman Ali Al Attar, who is receiving treatment at the Specialty Hospital after he was injured by shrapnel in the head in a shelling by the occupation army, in a ceremony held by the initiative at the Specialty Hospital and in the presence of the Chairman of the Jordanian Medical Association.
Al-Hammouri thanked the members of the medical missions who took the initiative to support their fellow Palestinian health workers working in the Gaza Strip to alleviate their suffering after being exhausted by the brutal war for more than 14 months, saying: “We feel proud as we see your determination to go to Gaza despite the challenges and difficulties, and you put yourselves at great risk from the bombing of hospitals and targeting of health workers were the number of martyrs has reached more than 1060 martyrs, and the occupation arrested more than 310 others and injured hundreds.” Al-Hammouri also pointed out that the occupation forces bombed about 130 ambulances while targeting Dr. Saeed Jouda, the only orthopedic specialist in the northern Gaza Strip, last Thursday with a bullet in the head fired by a drone belonging to the occupation army. He praised the role of humanitarian organizations that coordinate the entry of these medical missions, including Rahma Worldwide and PCRF, which have a great impact on the people in Gaza.
On the other hand, Al-Hammouri emphasized the heroic role played by journalists in Gaza, which exposes the occupation's crimes against humanity and the killing of women and children by sound and image, which made the occupation target them, pointing to the martyrdom of 196 journalists.
Al-Hammouri pointed out that the “Gaza Health Initiative”, which was launched at the end of October 2023, today includes more than 50 humanitarian and health organizations from different countries of the world, which have provided and continue to provide a lot of support to our brothers in Gaza. The initiative is preparing for reconstruction and rebuilding hospitals, infrastructure and other projects. He called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza to enable the initiative to provide more support and contribute to the reconstruction of the health sector in Gaza.
In a speech delivered by Dr. Ziad Al-Zoubi, Chairman of the Jordanian Medical Association, in which he thanked Al-Hammouri, The Specialty Hospital and the Gaza Health Initiative for continuing these noble humanitarian and national initiatives, and described what is being done by the occupation forces as the largest crime known in history that comes in parallel with the clear encroachment to seize the lands of neighboring Arab countries . And he thanked the medical teams and said that there are many Jordanian doctors and hospitals who are eager to treat the wounded Palestinians, calling for facilitating more medical missions to Gaza and and evacuating patients from Gaza to receive the needed treatment in Jordan.
The audience listened to painful testimonies from doctors returning from Gaza, including Dr. Zafer Al Rawashdeh, Dr. Muhammad Al Zoubi and Dr. Hamza Jabr, all their testimonies revealed the extent of the destruction, severe injuries and the horror of what children and women suffer in at the north and the south; which requires more humanitarian and medical aid, medical missions. a At the end of the ceremony, Al-Hammouri presented plaques from the Gaza Health Initiative to the Jordanian Medical Association, Rahma Worldwide and PCRF, doctors and nurses who returned from Gaza and the journalist Ali Al-Attar.
