
Dr. Al-Hammouri chaired a session titled “The War on Gaza, Challenges and Opportunities in the Health Sector” which discussed the immediate and long-term effects of the ongoing war on the healthcare system, highlighting key interventions from the local community and international partners, fostering dialogue on developing strategies to mitigate the crisis and shape future public health responses in Gaza. Representatives from the Palestinian Ministry of Health and UNRWA participated in the session.
Dr. Al-Hammouri explained the role of the Gaza Health Initiative and its partners and the efforts made in rebuilding the health sector in Gaza, explaining the projects provided by the Initiative to rebuild the health sector, and discussed the most important challenges facing partners and the importance of cooperation and coordination between the partners to overcome these challenges.
Dr. Fawzi praised the pivotal role of Jordan under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II in the political and humanitarian efforts to support the Palestinian people in general and the Gaza Strip in particular, explaining that Jordan is responsible for delivering the largest amount of medical and humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through the efforts of the Armed Forces and the Hashemite Jordanian Charity Organization. The main aim of this session is to promote cooperation and partnership between the parties working to rebuild the health sector in Gaza.
